Plastic Menace in Ghana

It is no secret that plastic is ubiquitous. Plastic pollution is one of the most serious environmental issues of the 21st century. Plastics are not only detrimental to the environment, but they are also harmful to animal and human health. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the equivalent of one garbage truck’s worth of plastic is dumped into the oceans every minute. Ghana is not exempted, though, as the problem of solid waste is apparent throughout the country.
